Frequently asked questions about load profile analysis
What customers ask us most before getting started — about data, security, pricing and operations.
Security & privacy
Where is my data stored?
Who has access to my data?
Inside the application, only the people you grant access to. Roles are assigned per tenant, and a user together with their API tokens can be restricted to a single end customer or site.
TEELS administrators only ever get access after being explicitly assigned to your tenant — and only at your support request or after written notice. Every assignment is visible on your team page and recorded in the audit log, with the time access was granted and the time it was removed.
How is my data backed up?
Is my data encrypted?
Do you use my data to train AI models?
No. We train no AI models of our own and do not pass your data to third parties. TEELS runs no AI of its own — we provide an MCP interface so you can connect your own.
The anonymised, aggregated analyses mentioned in our terms concern operational metrics: the total number of records, how they are distributed across tenants, and the like. They serve system monitoring and performance.
What happens to my data when I use the AI interface (MCP)?
Which service providers do you use?
Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) for hosting, Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland) on request. We also send and receive our email through Infomaniak. Payments run through Payrexx AG (Switzerland), accounting through Bexio AG (Switzerland).
Everything else — monitoring and internal tooling — we run ourselves on our own infrastructure at Hetzner. All processors are therefore located in Switzerland or the EEA.
Are you certified (ISO 27001 or similar)?
TEELS itself is not currently ISO 27001 certified. A certification is planned.
The data centres your data sits in already are: Hetzner is certified to ISO/IEC 27001, as is Infomaniak for its Swiss sites.
How can I secure sign-in — 2FA, passkeys, SSO?
We support two-factor authentication via TOTP authenticator apps.
You can also sign in with a passkey. Instead of typing a password, you confirm the sign-in directly on your device — by fingerprint, face recognition or device PIN. A passkey therefore replaces the password and is resistant to phishing; it is not a second factor in the classic sense, but a more secure way of signing in.
Single sign-on through SAML or OIDC is not implemented at present.
Can I trace who did what?
Security-relevant events — such as when a TEELS administrator was assigned to your tenant and when they were removed again — are always logged for every tenant, regardless of your plan.
The Compliance & Branding module adds the functional audit log on top: who changed which data, and when. It is already part of the Professional / Individual plan.

Pricing & contracts
What is a “meter year”?
Why are meters unlimited but meter years are not?
What happens if I exceed my quota?
Can I switch plans or add a module mid-term?
Can I try TEELS first?
How can I pay?
How long does the contract run, and how do I cancel?
The minimum term is 12 months. It renews for a further 12 months unless you cancel at least one month before the end — by email to hallo@teels.ch or directly in the application.
If a licence lapses without being renewed, a grace period follows in which you can carry on working as normal. Only after that is access blocked, until the licence is renewed. We flag this at every sign-in, both before the expiry date and throughout the grace period.

Features & usage
Why not just use Excel?
Because a single meter produces 35,200 readings a year. Excel will open that, but every analysis stays manual: copy the formulas, correct time zones and the daylight saving change by hand, rebuild the charts — for every customer, every year, from scratch. TEELS grew out of exactly that work.
Then there is what a spreadsheet fundamentally cannot do: several people on the same version, access rights per end customer, and somewhere to keep sensitive consumption data that is not a folder on a laptop.
Why TEELS and not just an AI?
Because your data never goes to a cloud for AI processing, and because the same question gives the same answer every time. A language model puts its reports together slightly differently on every run; TEELS calculates by fixed rules, traceably and repeatably.
The two are not mutually exclusive: through the AI interface (MCP) in the API / AI module you connect your own AI and let it work on the prepared data.
Can my end customer look at their own data?
Can I produce reports with my own logo?
Can I analyse several sites of one customer together?
What can the REST API do, and how many calls are included?
What does TEELS deliberately not do?
No real-time control. TEELS does not intervene in plant and switches no loads — it is an analysis tool for downstream evaluation and optimisation.
Anyone who wants to analyse load data can use it, from a single-family house to a utility. For a single private household the effort rarely pays off, though — our plans are cut for consultancies, businesses and utilities.
Which languages is the application available in?
Operations & support
Do I need to install anything?
What availability do you commit to?
We run TEELS on a best-effort basis: we aim for the highest availability we can, but we do not commit to a specific figure. Planned maintenance is announced where reasonable and scheduled outside normal business hours.
We currently offer no contractually committed SLA. We will revisit that as we grow.
